That used to be [40 yrs ago] the theory.  After driving over 5 million miles, most of which were, thankfully, on radial tires.  I never had any problem with radials by reversing rotation.  In fact I put several hudred thousand miles one one set of Michelin truck tires.  Proper inflation and rotation are most important for longvity. rotating in the same direction. &lt;BR/&gt;&lt;BR/&gt;Radials take a 'set' and won't last long if reversed. &lt;BR/&gt;&lt;BR/&gt;To prevent this be sure to each rim on the opposite side of the RV
